19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after spring of that year.

Victory also signifies he has won 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

His counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to force a third set.

He rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
